DPTI are putting in pedestrian crossings that will create squeeze points for cyclists.
Main Road Belair is already a horrible route for cyclists but unfortunately the topography means that there is no alternative. Now things will be even worse, especially if you are riding up hill.
Despite the importance of the route for cycling, we weren’t consulted.
It’s now too late to stop what they are planning, but we’ve written to Jon Whelan, General Manager Infrastructure Delivery about this, calling for remedial measures.
