Bikes for Refugees (ABN 20 663 461 735) is a bike recycling scheme supplying bikes free of charge to people in need. The scheme is now in its 18th year, and has recycled over 15,000 bikes! The scheme is a registered charity with the Australian Charities & Not-for-Profits Commission. It also holds a Licence for Collections for Charitable Purposes in SA (Lic No CCP2132).
The charity is centrally located at The Joinery, 111 Franklin St, Adelaide.
Bikes for Refugees also operates the Adelaide Community Bicycle Workshop – a community enterprise open to the public, where volunteers help riders to service or restore their bikes and riders can borrow tools to fix their own bikes. On most Saturdays the Workshop Bike Market offers many bikes for sale and our collection of parts is available.
